Project Statement for next phase of Identity Management
The next implementation of Vanderbilt's Identity Management System (VIMS) will complete the work that was started in the IDM Phase II implementation. All account life cycle and resource provisioning will be migrated to the new IDM environment. There will also be several enhancements to the system including better resource account support, fully integrated admin and end user tools, additional attribute availability for accounts, enhanced account life cycle management, and several architectural improvements.

An Overview of the Next Phase of Implementation
Identity Management is the complete management of digital identity. It includes identifying the person associated with the digital identity, gathering information about the person from various sources, authenticating these digital identities through the use of security credentials, and the ability to associate rights and restrictions to that digital identity. ITS is in the middle of a multi-year multi-phase project designed to improve and enhance the management of digital identities at Vanderbilt.
