Introducing Malware Prevention

To increase network security, Vanderbilt has begun offering Malware Prevention service to departments. Malware Prevention has several benefits, the most notable features are increased internet connection speed and secure browsing to protect against threats such as viruses, worms, and zero-day vulnerabilities.
(For a full explanation of how Malware Prevention works please see the podcast).

Malware Prevention options offered at Vanderbilt:

1) Malware Only - With this service, Malware Prevention blocks websites that are known to contain viruses and other malware as well as those used for phishing attacks. It includes Botnet Protection, Internet-Scale Malware/Botnet Protection, and Phishing Protection.

2) Malware and Content Filtering - This service provides all the protection included in the Malware Only service, plus Malware Prevention blocks categories of sites that could potentially violate Vanderbilt Policy as well as  Federal and State law
