Vanderbilt’s goal in this effort is to:
ITS has negotiated a contract with Network Solutions, a domain name registrar, for providing Vanderbilt with discounted pricing for registering, renewing and transferring domain names. The new service is available through the Vanderbilt Software Store. The following table summarizes the costs for registering, renewing, and transferring .COM, .NET, .ORG, and .INFO domains.

Vanderbilt must own all rights in the Internet domain names used by all departments, organizations and units within the university and medical center. Therefore all faculty, staff and students must cooperate with Vanderbilt in acquiring new or transferring ownership for current domain names and websites used for all official Vanderbilt purposes and activities.
The deadline for transferring existing domains to Vanderbilt’s new Network Solutions account is July 1, 2012.
