Pat Jones is the Director of the Vanderbilt Contact Center/Operator Services and ITS Disaster Recovery Planning.  She is responsible for overseeing Contact Center operations and organizational planning and testing of ITS Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.  Operator Services provides call answering, overhead and digital paging, medical center on-call services and customer interface for Vanderbilt University, Vanderbilt Medical Center and Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

Pat began her career at Vanderbilt in 1976 in the Purchasing department, supervising administrative staff and functions.  She assumed the position of Assistant Director and managed procurement operations, along with budgetary responsibilities.

In 1987, she joined Telecommunications and assumed responsibility for the customer service operations and staff interacting with customers regarding telecommunications services, systems and products.  During her time in Telecommunications, Pat coordinated customer service efforts during the cutover of more than 24,000 campus extensions to a new enhanced voice network and managed various major projects.

Pat began her current role in ITS in 2001 when Telecommunications and Academic Computing merged to form Information Technology Services.  Key accomplishments include planning and implementing an automated information call processing system, including call recording and a quality assurance program, as well as a web based pager forwarding and scheduling system.  Pat developed, successfully implemented and executed disaster and work area recovery plans for Operator Services.

Her interest in Emergency Response and Disaster Recovery has led to numerous classroom and on-line training sessions with certificates in emergency response and recovery.
