Antivirus AntiVirus software is available to the University community at no charge to the individual or department.

Audio Conferencing Services Audio conferencing brings multiple parties together for an audio-only meeting using telephones. Meetings can be scheduled and coordinated by the Vanderbilt Call Center or done by the user with special phone numbers and codes, (Reservationless).

Cellular and Mobility Sprint offers the lowest cost for the greatest number of Vanderbilt users, based on current and historical calling patterns. Discounts are available for Faculty, Staff and Students.

Collaboration Services With a common, university-wide learning environment that students, instructors and other customers quickly adopt, Collaboration Services such as Web Conferencing, Video Conferencing, Email, Chat, and Course Management support multiple approaches to communication, organizing meetings/events, teaching, learning, and research. Creating dependable resources for team building, bridging professors and students, supporting transfer of class materials, class rolls, and information, ITS' collaboration services support widely diverse constituencies and education missions.

Data Network One of the primary missions of ITS is to ensure the correct and efficient operation of the campus internet. The campus internet is the combination of several major components including the campus-wide Ethernet, remote access, and connectivity to the Internet. ITS monitors the operation of these components, diagnoses problems, provides network address assignment, evaluates new networking products, and develops future network designs.

Directory Services Resources for faculty, staff, and student contact information. ITS ensures secure access to updated contact information to VUnetID authenticated users. As a value added service, ITS provides live person contact via Vanderbilt's Call Center in order to page VUMC personnel, confirm contact information and assist with conference call scheduling.

• PeopleFinder - a web-based Vanderbilt directory with contact information for VU faculty, staff, departments/organizations and students.
• VUdirectory - Vanderbilt's email address book, accessible by your email client to search for Vanderbilt email addresses when composing a message.
• Call Center - call center and customer contact for the Vanderbilt Community, enabling customers to access services 24/7/365.
• Emergency Red Phones - designed to provide communication coverage in the event of a phone system outage.

Hosting ITS offers a comprehensive dedicated server and managed services product lines, from ColdFusion, Data Backup, Media Streaming, MySQL Databases, Print Services, Storage / VUspace, Server Co-location, Video Webcasting, Web Development Tools, to Website Hosting as well as the monitoring and administration of your systems.

Information Security ITS offers students, staff & faculty network and system security services and products to help keep your networks and machines safe.

Multimedia and Video Conference Facility ITS provides a state-of-the-art conference facility with extensive multimedia capabilities for use by members of the Vanderbilt Community. The room comfortably seats 12 people and is available at no charge based on availability.

Optical Scanning Optical mark reading services to meet a wide range of instructional, research, and administrative needs.

Software Licensing Vanderbilt students and departments can easily and inexpensively obtain software needed for teaching, learning, research, and administration.

Training Hands-on instructor-led training focused on basic information and instructions for using various voice and network services, Internet clients, and instructional and research tools.

Streaming Media Services ITS provides support for streaming Event Capture (live and/or archived in Flash, Windows Media and Real format), Storage of streaming files, Media Conversion of DVDs and miniDV tapes, and a Podcast Studio (Hill 237) for content creation. 

Video Conferencing Services (Video Bridge)  Vanderbilt's bridge enables video conferencing endpoints to connect to multiple sites, and to connect with endpoints using different technology.

Voice Network ITS provides reliable and cost effective telecommunications services for the Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Medical Center community. Services include Automatic Call Distribution (ACD), Calling Cards>, Cellular Service, Telephone Repair Service, Toll Free 1-800/866/877/888 Numbers, and Voice Mail.

VUmix In an effort to promote legal methods of music distribution, Vanderbilt presents VUmix. There you'll find links to discounted music services for Vanderbilt users, including Napster, My Tracks, and Ruckus. Video, Audio & Web Conferencing Services There are a multitude of service and technologies in the Vanderbilt community to facilitate and enhance collaboration, conferencing, and educational efforts.

Web Conferencing Services Web conferencing enables participants to connect to each other in real time using a web browser. ITS provides two web conferencing services: Centra Live using voice-over-IP, available at no charge; and, Web-Meeting with accompanying audio conferencing offered by AT&T.
