How do I login to VU Live? To login to VU Live click here: http://g.live.com/0ELHP_MEREN/318.

How do I create my VU Live password? Click on the following link to setup your VU Live Password.

Who will receive a VU Live account? All Vanderbilt faculty, staff, and students are eligible for a VU Live account. However, only undergraduate students may receive an @Live.Vanderbilt.edu email account.

How do I modify my email delivery to an @Live.Vanderbilt.edu address? If you are an undergraduate student you can modify your email delivery on the Modify Personal Options page: https://www2.vanderbilt.edu/vunet/modify.html. Only Vanderbilt undergraduate students are eligible for an @Live.Vanderbilt.edu email account.

Can I have both a VU Gmail account and a VU Live account? Undergraduate students can have both a VU Gmail account and a VU Live account. However, undergraduate students may only accept email delivery to VU Gmail or VU Live. Only Vanderbilt undergraduate students are eligible for a VU Gmail or VU Live email account.

I am not an undergraduate. What happens if I send an email from my VU Live account? Email can be sent from Outlook live. However, recipients will receive an email address from the live account i.e. John.Doe@Live.Vanderbilt.edu. If a recipient replies to this email address it will be routed to your primary email address (generally Vmail).

I am not an undergraduate student, what happens if I am sent an email to the VU Live account? If an email is sent to the VU Liveemail address will be routed to your primary email address (generally Vmail).

Why is Vanderbilt offering VU Live? In partnering with Microsoft, we are providing Vanderbilt with a widely used full featured service at no cost to the University.

Does Vanderbilt provide support for VU Live? No. VU Live support is available only through Microsoft at their Microsoft Help Center.

What if there is a service disruption to my VU Live account? Can Vanderbilt ITS help correct the problem? No. Aside from a problem connecting to VU Live, your account is completely administered by Microsoft.

In addition to my VUnetID and ePassword, will I need an additional VU Live login and password to access my VU Live account? You will access your VU Live using your VUnetID and e-password.

How much storage space will I have with VU Live? Each user is provided with 7GB of storage space.

Why do I only have 7GB of space now? Microsoft recently updated SkyDrive and reduced storage to 7GB. If you signed up for SkyDrive before the cutoff it's still possible to claim your remaining 18GB. To get your additional SkyDrive space visit https://skydrive.vanderbilt.edu/ and click “Manage storage” on the left.  Select “free upgrade” under the Storage plans.

I’m already using more than 7GB of my SkyDrive storage. Will I lose my files? No. Your account should update to the 25GB plan if you are already over 7GB. Log in to your SkyDrive account to verify your storage amount. 

What are the terms and conditions for claiming a full 25 GB? The 25 GB Microsoft offer is only good for active SkyDrive account holders who had at least one file in their account on or before April 21, 2012.

When is the deadline to claim my SkyDrive space? As of this writing (5/1/12) Microsoft has not yet issued a deadline for claiming the additional 18GB of SkyDrive space that's available to early adopters of the service. It should be done as soon as possible. 

What if I already have a VU Live account? Multiple accounts can be linked together using Microsoft's linked ID system. You can easily add or remove linked IDs by logging into your Account Overview page.

If I already have a VU Live account can I migrate it into my VU Live Account? Accounts cannot be migrated but they can be linked using Microsoft's linked ID system. You can easily add or remove linked IDs by logging into your Account Overview page: https://skydrive.vanderbilt.edu.

Will I see VU Live related ads? No, VU Live users will not receive ads.

Can I change my preferred email address after I migrate to VU Live? Yes, you can. For information see the Modify Personal Options page.

What happens when I graduate? Undergraduate students can use their VU Live account @Live.Vanderbilt.edu, after graduation. Students using VU Live accounts will be able to continue using their accounts indefinitely.
