- Groupmail FAQ
In addition to email accounts for individuals at the University, the VUmail system supports multi-user mailboxes for groups of users like academic or administrative departments or student organizations.
Each multi-user mailbox has a list of users who are allowed access. Users on the list can have different permissions -- some users may only be able to read mail in the mailbox, while other users may have permission to modify and delete messages in the mailbox.
Multi-user mailboxes on the VUmail system can only be accessed by users with a VUnetID and an email client that uses the IMAP4 protocol (e.g., Mulberry, Eudora 4+, Outlook Express, Outlook 2000+, Netscape 4+).
Any of the VUnet Services Administrators (VSAs) for your school or administrative unit can set up a multi-user mailbox. If you do not know who your VSAs are, you can use the VSA finder or call ITS at (34)3-9999 for a referral.
