Welcome to VUmailguard!
This quickstart guide provides information about the newest tool available for managing unsolicited electronic mail.
What's your disposition? "Disposition" describes how the VUmailguard service treats your incoming mail, based on your selected preference. By default, all VUmail users are enrolled in the service in the "Quarantine and Digest" disposition, but changing your disposition is easy and fast. Disposition choices are below, with instructions on changing your settings.
Quarantine & Digest
When a piece of mail arrives, the service scans the message to determine if it is spam. If it is spam, the service moves the message to a"qarantine"area. VUmailguard emails a digest to you once daily with information on the quarantined messages. See the second page of this guide for detailed descriptions of the digest features.
Tag & Pass
You receive each message as it is sent to your address, but the service first evaluates the message for its"spam likelihood"and inserts a numeric rating for the message in the header. If you select this disposition, you should set local filtering options for handling this mail within your client. Configuration instructions are online at the VUmailguard help page.
Do Nothing to My Mail
The service scans all of your incoming mail for virus content but not for spam and delivers the mail to your inbox.
